ARTISTS OF ANTIGO
September 17 through October 2, 2011

Visitors were WOW'ed by the artistry of 23 Antigo artists, working in 8 disciplines, and creating one singular sensation!
Here's a small sample of what visitors to the WOWSPACE admired: Mun Benishek's stunning pine needle baskets; the intricate scratchboard work of Myra Nye; delicate porcelains by Andy Kazukewicz,
inspired by his growing up on the shores of Lake Superior. Many were amused by the wry sense of humor of Eric Gunderson's pieces while the brilliant fused glass jewelry and glowing discs of glass
created by Mary Turnbull and Jamie Myers of the Phlox Art Glass Studio brought many ooh's and ah's. The photographs of Bette Ebel and Mary Burt captured scenes from their travels, moments that
touched them and in turn touch the viewer.
The final weekend of the show brought a prodigious number of visitors because it was the weekend of the Miles of Art tour, a county-wide celebration of the arts. During the weekend, Julie
Bauknecht worked on pastels that are then transformed into puzzles; Myra Nye demonstrated the intricacies of doing scratchboard work; Joanne March, Pat Peterson, and Mun Benishek worked on baskets
and in the Art Park, Cindy Martin worked on one of her luminous watercolors.
A very successful show! We are grateful to CoVantage Credit Union of Antigo for their sponsorship of the show.
