Vibhas Kendzia returned to Wittenberg on August 4 to give his 3rd Walls of Wittenberg concert.  More than 40 people, on a perfect evening, enjoyed his native flute, soprano sax and keyboard music.  Vibhas characterizes his original world music as "music from the garden."  The Art Park, with its sculptures, flowers, shrubs and trees, could not have been a more perfect setting.
Vibhas grew up in West Germany and has studied piano and flute since he was five.  After completing his academic studies at the Johann Wolfgang Goethe University in Frankfurt, he continued instruction in flute and piano as well as the traditional instruments from many countries.
His repertoire on the 4th included songs with the Bansuri, a native bamboo flute of India as well as Navajo Indian flute music and a jazzy rendition of "Over the Rainbow" on the soprano sax.
Today, he lives in Sedona AZ but tours throughout the West and Midwest.  We are fortunate that Wittenberg is one of his stops.
